Limelight - July 2006 - Dear Clients and Friends of Resource Interactive,
From directions to definitions and from inspiration to the perfect summer sandals, we are all searching for something. Today, it is ALL ABOUT THE SEARCH—how search and the constantly advancing engines have literally changed the way we think. With the power to pull together unbelievable amounts of previously disconnected data we no longer search reality, we create it. An anthropological phenomenon that is changing our culture at meteoric speed, how a brand embraces this way of thinking and travels an unpaved reality is all new territory. We're excited and challenged with the how of search and the how of being found.

All Eyes on REEF Finding favor from both Business Week (June 19) and Inc. (July) magazines is great news for our innovating think-outside-the-box leader, Nancy Kramer. What caught the focus of these leading business pubs? REEF, the Resource Employee Equity Fund. This financial employee benefit entices new employees to see our organization as the values-driven company we strive to be, while reminding associates of our responsibility to our clients and their success. These recent articles take a look at our motivation, from finding and retaining talent to investing in our clients.

Nightstand - The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture by John Battelle
Rapid Prototyping: Searching for Innovation

Sometimes, until we see, click and use a concept, we can only theorize about its effects in online space. The drive to great work covers a lot of ground. And the push to innovate—faster and at less expense—picks up speed at every turn. We need to aim beyond the incremental to leap-frog ahead of the competition. Inspired by this, our technology group recently established an innovative engine for the rapid prototyping of ideas. We call it Hackfight and as the name suggests, it's a fun, gutsy way to see things in a whole new light.

Built without the constraints of client requirements, this internal team competition forces us to think quickly, to embrace theory as well as concept, and to draw meaningful and insightful conclusions—all in under 40 hours. The results tell us what we need to know in order to impact speed-to-market decision-making and to ultimately frame how we innovate and how we approach client work.

As we have added to our roster with search experts, OMA specialists and client service professionals we had to search for more space. We got quality results at first query and have expanded our offices to include the 4th floor of the Moline Plow Building, our home for over seven years in the heart of Columbus' Arena District.
